'The Interview' Gets More VOD as Final Red Band Trailer Arrives

The dust has settled on the controversial release of The Interview, but if you haven't been able to see the film in its limited theatrical engagement or for some reason couldn't watch the Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg comedy on YouTube, Google Play, Xbox or Sony's website to stream the film, you'll have even more options to watch it.

Beginning today, Deadline reports a slew of cable, satellite and telecom providers will be offering The Interview for rental on VOD for $5.99, which is how much it costs to stream everywhere else. And if you still need to be convinced to see the movie, one final red band trailer has arrived too. Watch!

Here's the final red band trailer for Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg's The Interview from Sony:

New VOD services getting the film for rent starting to day are Bright House Networks, Comcast, Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable, VUBIQUITY affiliates including Charter Communications, Cablevision, AT&T U-verse TV, DirecTV, and finally Verizon FiOS and Wal-Mart's VUDU service, where both will also have the film available for purchase. The film will also roll out in other unnamed markets throughout the coming weekend. And we're not sure why it's taken so long, but The Interview will be available on Sony's PlayStation Network starting tomorrow as well. Still no word on the Netflix release yet.

The Interview is written and directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (of This is the End previously, and the co-writers of Superbad, The Green Hornet, Pineapple Express), with a story the duo wrote with "The Daily Show" scribe Dan Sterling. In the comedy, James Franco plays the handsome talk show host of "Skylark Tonight" who finds himself and his producer (Rogen) into a dangerous CIA organized plot to assassinate the leader of North Korea under the guise of a television interview. Columbia Pictures has released Rogen & Goldberg's new comedy The Interview in limited theaters and VOD services.
