Cable channel HBO has announced the launch of a new project about the star of paintings "A Place in the Sun" and "From Here to Eternity", the actor with a complicated life history of Montgomery Clift
The main role offer to play Matt Bomer.
In the center of the plot of the picture will be Clift (Bomer), who understands that he felt a deep sense of a young Elizabeth Taylor, his partner in the film "A Place in the Sun".

I love Matt Bomer and will definitely see this. But it'll be interesting because Bomer has a natural charm to him and usually plays equally charming characters. I don't know that much about Clift besides the basics, but my understanding is that many of the actors in this time were more on the quiet mysterious side. Like I said, I'm definitely gonna watch, but it will be interesting to see Bomer in such a different role.

Plans for the film were announced a while ago – as the article said, it’s been long-gestating. But the producers were struggling to get financing lined up. The HBO announcement is new, and fantastic news.

I’m surprised Matt didn’t win. Maybe they feel that somebody as nice and good-looking as Matt Bomer can’t act. Or they don’t like Matt, ’cause he has a family with three kids with another guy. Anyway, I hope that Matt really tries to get some of the Montgomery depth, feeling, sensitivity into Matt’s interpretation. And what was that western with John Ireland? And John Wayne?
