Jake Gyllenhaal to Reteam With Antoine Fuqua in ‘The Man Who Made It Snow’

Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal is set to reteam with his “Southpaw” director, Antoine Fuqua, in the IM Global drama “The Man Who Made It Snow.”

Michael Kingston and Brett Tabor are penning the script, which is based on the true story of Max Mermelstein, a Jewish hotel engineer, who transformed a small mom-and-pop drug organization into a billion-dollar enterprise known as the Medellin Cartel.

IM Global is financing and will be selling international rights at AFM this week.

The role gives Gyllenhaal another edgy thriller to add to his career and also gives him an opportunity to work with Fuqua again after filming the boxing pic “Southpaw” with him that will bow next year.

Gyllenhaal’s latest film “Nightcrawler” earned him some of his best reviews of his career and overperformed at the box office making more than $10 million on an $8 million budget.

He can also be seen in the Working Title pic “Everest,” which bows next fall. He is repped by WME.
