People, remember the time period this all takes place in. It was very much different "back then" and the English aristocracy was having a hard time with changes to their ways of life.
I think the writers have done a excellent job. I just love this show and all it's drama. It is so much fun to watch and so entertaining. Why try to be such a critic about it?
