007 production moves to Rome

FILE - In this Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 file photo, actor Daniel Craig steps out of a sports car during the shooting of the latest James Bond movie "SPECTRE" in Rome. After surviving the Sony hack, production for the new James Bond thriller "SPECTRE" has moved to Rome, where crowds are lining up to catch a glimpse of 007 and the oldest Bond girl yet, 50-year-old Monica Bellucci. Daniel Craig and Bellucci have been seen around town in recent days as filming has taken them from the cobble-stoned streets of the historic center out to the Mussolini-era modern EUR neighborhood. The main thoroughfare of central Rome, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, was closed to traffic early Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, for a nighttime car chase scene featuring Bond's silver Aston Martin. Another chase took place along the tranquil bike path down on the banks of the Tiber River. City officials expect as much as 1 million euros in permit fees alone from the filming. Opinion:

kevin bond

The old Bond movies with Sean Connery were the best. These Craig 007 films are Bond in name only they have none of the electricity excitment orappeal of the Connery Bonds.

Theres no villians stealing atomic bombs no Blofeld with a secret base inside a volcano no Spectre plots to hold the world to ransom with a diamond powered satellite weapon. These were things you only saw in a 007 movie. Now the films are just ordinary action films. And the Jason Bourne movies do that better. Ah how i miss the old glory days of 007 and the excitment i would feel at the end of each movie when those four words would always appear on the screen after the credits........James Bond Will Return. Now its like yeah who cares?
