If you can’t get enough of “Hocus Pocus,” you should gird your loins for some incredible news: An onscreen reunion for the Sanderson sisters is a thing that could really, actually happen… but for one minor detail that still needs to fall into place.
According to Bette Midler, all three witches from the 1993 film — including herself, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy — are already 100% on board with the idea of doing a sequel.
Per E! Online, the request for a “Hocus Pocus” return kept coming up during Midler’s recent Reddit AMA, to which she replied, “You have to go to send in your cards to the Walt Disney company. The ball’s in their court.”And lest you thought she was kidding around or punting the question, Midler then updated the overview to make it clear that she’s completely, totally serious:
“Inundate the Disney company, because I have canvassed the girls and they are wiling to do it, but we have no say in it, so if you want a HOCUS POCUS 2, ask the Walt Disney company,” she wrote. “You have been SO adorable. This has been most enlightening. SISTAHS!”
You guys. YOU GUYS. SHE SAID THE THING. And if we all start mass emailing Disney right now, demanding that the Sanderson sisters put a spell on us once again, there is literally no reason why we couldn’t all be sitting in the theater watching “Hocus Pocus: This Time It’s Personal” come Halloween 2016. Everyone commence letter-writing immediately, and so help me, don’t you dare suggest we deal with this news by forming a calming circle.
