Iv'e watched all the Downton Christmas episodes by mistake because my parents seem to enjoy falling asleep to it, I can't be sure it's not just the same episode repeated, two hours is far too long to watch a bunch of posh people to shuffle about a large house being vaguely worried about how posh they are

this year Downton has been a little bit of a let down first off Bates has said maybe three or four lines in the whole of this season which maybe the first three was " I have to shine some shoes" so he didn't get much of a story line this series.
Another depressing thing is how many times we heard the phrase" the worlds changing" almost as if they want to fast forward the series into a time akin to what we're living in now. The whole point of watching Downton Abbey is for the 'period piece it is' we want to feel as if we're transported to that era we don't want to be reminded every few minutes on how the times are changing. Modernizing the integrities and cultures of that age is not what we want to see. Another thing is this year wasn't as good as series 1 through 3 Lady Mary is a bigger bitch than she ever was, Lady Edith is more pathetic than she ever was however Maggie Smith is still wonderful regardless and we're still waiting for Daisy to find romance, there's so many more reasons why I just didn't like series 5 of Downton Abbey I hope it gets better but considering we're already 7 episodes in I highly doubt it, so it better improve in series 6. I wish Julian Fellowes would read this.
